A Makoni community court found Taurai Mutandaware guilty of adultery with his neighbor’s wife. The plaintiff, Mabura Muzanhenhamo, reported that he discovered a secret mobile phone line his wife, Vongai, used to communicate with Mutandaware.
Mutandaware admitted to purchasing the phone and conducting the affair. Vongai confirmed the relationship, stating it occurred multiple times within her matrimonial bedroom while she was pregnant. The court ordered Mutandaware to compensate Muzanhenhamo with one beast and four goats.
He was also directed to pay 100 US dollars for the lawsuit costs. A previous ruling by Headman Maparura, which mandated a payment of six beasts, had not been fulfilled by the defendant.
