Malawi, Norway strengthen ties in health, education, governance

Malawi Vice President Jane Mayemu Ansah discussed expanded cooperation with Norwegian Ambassador Anne Sofie Bjelland during a Capital Hill meeting in Lilongwe that addressed health systems, academic partnerships and environmental programs. Ansah acknowledged Norwegian contributions to maternal and child health initiatives and referenced a recently finalized bilateral grant supporting the Health Services Joint Fund and national nutrition security efforts.

The vice president advocated for enhanced collaboration in climate-adapted farming methods, sustainable power generation and technological innovation within higher education frameworks. Bjelland confirmed her government's commitment to transparent development assistance aligned with shared democratic principles.

Both officials expressed confidence that a continued partnership will deliver measurable improvements for citizens while strengthening institutional capacity and governance standards.
