Malawi Teams Get a Fresh Look with Admiral Gear

Malawi national football teams signed a deal with Admiral for new uniforms at the Amaryllis Hotel last Saturday. The partnership costs ZAR 1.8 million, which equals about K200 million invested in Malawi soccer over two years. FAM President Fleetwood Haiya believes this marks major progress for soccer development across the country.

Admiral plans to make jerseys for every Malawi team, plus fan replicas and other items like tracksuits, golf shirts, bags, and caps. They created different price points to ensure that even people with less money could buy official gear. Haiya explained that they wanted to create something that makes their teams feel proud when wearing the black, red, and green colors that represent Malawi.

The football association will work with online shopping sites to create a store where fans can order official merchandise from anywhere in the world. Before this deal, Malawi teams wore Moto brand uniforms made by Asian companies that gave the association limited benefits. Haiya mentioned they needed better-quality clothes as part of their plan to improve Malawi football and offer fans more purchasing options.

FAM became the first soccer group in southern Africa to team up with Admiral as their uniform provider. Admiral's General Manager, Roger Livesey, promised to help promote and develop Malawi soccer. Important guests at the event included Flames captain Christopher John Banda, Dennis Chembezi, Tatenda M'balaka, and FDH Bank manager Noel Nkulichi, who received a special kit as the main sponsor of the senior national team. Both Flames coach Kallisto Pasuwa and Scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili attended the ceremony.
