Malawians hit the road for Bushiri support

Malawians are gearing up for a massive road trip to back Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary. They're launching a wild 1,865-kilometer solidarity march from Nsanje to Chitipa and circling back to Lilongwe, all to protest the potential forced return to South Africa.

Event organizer Mabvuto Mwakabana explained they're rallying to show true brotherhood. These concerned citizens want to make noise about a lower court ruling that could send the Bushiris back to face criminal charges across the border. Their mission? Prove Malawians stick together when one of them feels threatened.

Mwakabana stressed that Bushiri originally fled to Malawi, seeking safety for himself and his family. Sending them back could seriously risk their lives. The caravan isn't just a walk; it's a statement. Participants will collect signatures from supporters, creating a powerful petition to present to key decision-makers.

The whole journey is about giving everyday Malawians a chance to voice their opinion on the Bushiris' situation. By walking across the entire country, they're turning a legal battle into a national conversation about protection, solidarity, and community support. Every step of this massive trek represents a stand against what they see as potential injustice.
