Malaysia's King grants royal assent to 20 Acts as Parliament focuses on 13MP

Malaysia's King Sultan Ibrahim granted royal approval to twenty legislative measures during the current parliamentary session. Speaker Johari Abdul confirmed the assent covers major legislation such as the Parliamentary Services Act 2025, Online Safety Act 2025, and Malaysian Media Council Act 2025. Additional approved measures address constitutional amendments, labor ordinances for Sabah and Sarawak, and various financial regulatory updates.

The Second Meeting of Parliament will span twenty-four days with extended evening sessions planned. Members will concentrate on debating the 13th Malaysia Plan alongside reviewing the Auditor-General's Report and Human Rights Commission materials. Johari praised the Parliamentary Services Act for restoring legislative independence and strengthening democratic governance.

All parliamentary members must complete mandatory health examinations before November 7. The current session continues through August 28, with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim scheduled to present the 13th Malaysia Plan on July 31. The restored parliamentary autonomy reinforces institutional separation of powers within Malaysia's government structure.
