Mammootty dedicates Kerala State Award to fans

Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty has thanked viewers after receiving the Kerala State Award for Best Actor, crediting audiences for warmly accepting his portrayal of Kodumon Potti in the horror film Bramayugam. The veteran performer used social media to express gratitude one day following the announcement of the 55th Kerala State Film Awards, which took place at a press conference in Thrissur led by Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian.

Mammootty extended congratulations to fellow winners and praised his collaborators from Bramayugam, which director Rahul Sadasivan helmed. The survival drama Manjummel Boys dominated with 10 honors, claiming prizes for best picture and director for Chidambaram, who also earned recognition for original screenplay. Soubin Shahir shared the best character actor prize with Sidharth Bharathan from Bramayugam.

Additional winners included Shamla Hamza for best actress in Feminichi Fathima, while special jury acting honors went to Jyothirmayi, Darshana Rajendran, Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas. The romantic comedy Premalu secured recognition for popular appeal, and Lijomol Jose won best female character actor for Nadanna Sambhavam. A jury headed by actor Prakash Raj reviewed 128 submissions before selecting 38 finalists.
