Man United's Amorim refuses to change tactics after derby loss

Manchester United suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat against Manchester City despite entering the derby positioned above their rivals for the first time in five years. Manager Ruben Amorim maintains his commitment to the 3-4-3 tactical system regardless of mounting pressure from poor results. The Portuguese coach admits he experiences greater anguish than his supporters while defending his philosophical approach to the game. United collected merely four points from their opening Premier League fixtures and fell victim to fourth-tier Grimsby Town in cup competition.

Amorim's tenure produced eight victories across 31 league matches, culminating in a fifteenth-place finish during the previous campaign. The club invested 200 million pounds in attacking reinforcements, yet managed four league goals this season through two opposition mistakes and one penalty conversion. New striker Benjamin Sesko struggled during his debut start, while Matheus Cunha remained unavailable due to injury concerns. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed optimism that derby success might catalyze improved form following consecutive losses to Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton.
