Man with 30k leva detained at protest, insists it's for repairs

Simeon Petrov got arrested during the Sofia protest chaos while carrying 30,000 leva in cash, but he says the police totally misunderstood the situation. Cops found the money with street names written on notes and assumed he was paying rioters, but Petrov claims those streets are where his rental properties are located, and he was literally just heading to a bank ATM to deposit rent payments and insurance money.

He got stopped near the Triangle of Power while filming TikTok content, and officers tackled him even though he warned them about the cash. Petrov says he can prove everything with rental contracts and denied knowing Bozhidar Bobokov, who allegedly funded protesters.
