Manchester legend Ricky Hatton found dead at home in Hyde, aged 46

British boxer Ricky Hatton passed away Sunday morning at his residence in Hyde, Greater Manchester. Authorities discovered the 46-year-old fighter's body at 6:45 AM after receiving a public report. Greater Manchester Police stated they found no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. The former champion had recently announced plans to return to professional boxing with a December match in Dubai. Hatton held world titles across two weight divisions during his career.

The Stockport-born athlete grew up in a pub on a council estate where his parents constructed a basement training facility. Before achieving professional success, Hatton worked for his family's carpet business. His boxing career spanned from 1997 to 2012, featuring victories against respected opponents like Kostya Tszyu and defeats to Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao. The fighter maintained an undefeated 43-0 record before experiencing his first loss.

Hatton publicly addressed his struggles with mental health and substance abuse while advocating for mental health awareness. Manchester City will observe a minute of appreciation for their devoted supporter during their upcoming match against Manchester United.
