A Buddhist temple stepped up after disaster struck Myanmar's Mandalay Region. The Mandalay Yunnan Buddhist Temple teamed up with local Myanmar-born Chinese families and other generous givers to help earthquake victims. They gathered food and supplies worth more than 600 million kyats to feed thousands of religious people who lost everything. The massive relief effort reached 11,100 monks and nuns across seven different townships that got hit hard. Rice bags, cooking oil bottles, and chickpeas filled trucks heading to the disaster zones.
