Mandela's grandsons face eviction from Houghton mansion

Two grandsons of Nelson Mandela face removal from the former president's Johannesburg estate after property investors filed court papers seeking their eviction. Iterele Investment Corporation and its directors, Petrus Malindi and William Trengove, asked the High Court to order Ndaba and Mbuso Mandela out within 7 days of any judgment.

The application requests authorization for sheriff deputies and security personnel to force the brothers from the mansion if they resist. Court filings indicate the pair remained after the sale despite requests to depart. Company representatives say multiple negotiations failed to secure a voluntary departure from the multimillion-rand residence.

The investors claim neither grandson holds valid occupancy rights and ask the judges to impose legal expenses if family members contest the removal. Documents seek police backing to prevent the brothers from reentering the Houghton property after eviction.
