KCB rugby coach Oliver Mang'eni wants to beat Kabras when they play this Saturday. The teams will face each other in the Enterprise Cup semifinal.
Kabras beat KCB 25-17 last Saturday at the Kakamega ASK Showground. This win kept Kabras unbeaten at home, and they have won all 11 games this season.
Kabras finished first with 52 points. KCB came second with 50 points. Menengai Oilers ended third with 47 points.
Mang'eni plans to fix what went wrong. He believes his team will come back stronger next game.
He said KCB played well at the start and pushed hard against Kabras in the first half. But during the second half, KCB made many mistakes that cost them the game.
The match started quickly. Kenyan player Kelvin Wekesa scored for Kabras in the first 10 minutes after KCB dropped the ball, putting Kabras ahead 7-0.
KCB replied quickly. Austin Sikutwa scored and kicked the extra points himself, making the score 7-7.
Ntabeni Dukisa kicked two penalties for Kabras after Tyson Maina broke the rules, moving Kabras ahead again. Then Griffin Musila and Sikutwa scored for KCB, which went ahead 14-13.
Dukisa kicked another penalty for Kabras, and Sikutwa kicked one for KCB, giving KCB a tiny 17-16 lead.
Right before halftime, Dukisa kicked one more penalty, giving Kabras a 19-17 lead at the break.
KCB had the ball most of the second half. Even with this advantage, they failed to score any points.
