Namibian-born creative specialist and Equipped Performance Arts founder Stanley Mareka will serve as head judge for South Africa’s fourth annual Miss Curvylicious pageant on Nov. 1 at the South African State Theatre. Pageant founder Maatemeke Phasha confirmed the appointment and said it will be Mareka’s third time in the role.
Mareka will guide contestants in an opening routine and evaluate their professionalism and enthusiasm. Phasha said organizers chose him for honesty and a record of community development. The national event highlights plus-size women across South Africa and promotes confidence, mentorship, empowerment, fitness and healthy living, with plans to expand to Namibia.
Phasha said the platform aims to build skills and public engagement for participants and urged young women to prioritize self-development and body positivity.
