Marvel Snap Faces Backlash for Copying Kamen Rider Art

Players have spotted something fishy about Marvel Snap's card artwork. The digital card game appears to have copied designs from a Japanese superhero show called Kamen Rider Wizard. Gamers noticed that the Ancient One's magical shield looks almost exactly like artwork from the TV series.

The person who created the original designs for Kamen Rider Wizard became upset when fans showed them the similarities. This designer worked on the show that ran for 53 episodes between 2012 and 2013. They explained that the dragon came from PLEX designs and the outer circle was their personal creation. A teammate made the text around the edges, which spells out magic words about gaining power from stones.

The original artist felt angry and sad about the situation. They said it shows no respect for fans of both characters. The designer also mentioned loving Marvel, which made the copying feel worse. They believe Marvel Snap used the artwork as if it belonged to their game from the start.

Griffin works as the community manager for Marvel Snap and responded to player complaints. This person promised to look into the problem through the game's Discord channel. However, that response happened quite some time ago without any updates.

Marvel Snap faced other troubles earlier this year when TikTok got banned briefly in America. The game had connections to ByteDance, the same company that runs TikTok. Second Dinner later moved the game to Skystone Games, an American publisher, during January 2025.
