Punjab Safe Cities Authority expanded its complimentary internet program across the province under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's guidance. The authority doubled Lahore's access points from 230 to 430 locations while extending coverage from 11 districts to 22 regions. Citizens can connect at more than 710 designated sites throughout Punjab's major urban centers. The network serves communities in Lahore, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum, Attock, Hasan Abdal, Sahiwal, Okara, and Murree. Advanced Wi-Fi 6 technology powers the upgraded infrastructure.
The system has served 37.22 million people who have used over 905 terabytes of data since launch. Officials designated the service for emergency communications, educational purposes, email access, and the Women's Safety App. Users should avoid entertainment streaming to preserve bandwidth for essential functions. PSCA plans complete provincial coverage as part of the digital transformation initiative. The authority continues developing technological infrastructure across Punjab's communities.
