Masvingo girl flown to Sally Mugabe hospital by HeliDrive

HeliDrive Zimbabwe transported an eight-year-old burn victim from Masvincluding to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital after fire injuries affected eighty percent of her body. The National Air Ambulance Services also evacuated a fifty-year-old motorcycle accident victim from West Nicholson to United Bulawayo Hospitals for specialized treatment. Dr Freddy Mhondiwa emphasized how rapid emergency response saves lives when patients require advanced medical care. These recent missions demonstrate the service's ability to bridge geographic barriers between rural areas and major healthcare facilities. Swift air evacuation proves essential for patients with severe injuries requiring immediate specialist attention.

Since August 2024, HeliDrive has rescued more than 800 people across Zimbabwe's remote regions. Russian and Zimbabwean medical teams staff the helicopters around the clock, providing intensive care during transport. President Mnangagwa's healthcare modernization initiative supplied eighteen Russian-made Ansat and Mi-17 helicopters for public health services. The program targets maternal emergencies, traffic accidents, and serious illnesses in distant communities. This emergency medical system ensures universal healthcare access regardless of location.
