Matrix PI hits back as cops deny Interpol links

Private investigator Tafadzwa Chidawa and his company Matrix fired back at claims made against them. The Herald Zimbabwe newspaper ran a story saying police denied any connection between Chidawa and Interpol. Matrix responded that local police cannot speak for the international crime fighting organization. They stressed their team followed all laws when they tracked down a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser across the border. The vehicle recovery happened in Malawi through legal means.

The Herald article stated that Interpol never works with private detectives like Chidawa. Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi warned people about fake claims of working with Interpol. He explained that the international police group only partners with official law enforcement agencies. Nyathi said Zimbabwe police handle cross-border cases through proper government channels. Private investigators have no role in these official operations.

Court records show Chidawa and partner Clara Manyepera face serious charges. Authorities say they ran an illegal youth camp without proper permits. The Matrix Disciplinary and Training Camp claimed to help troubled teens. Prosecutors argue the pair pretended to be licensed child protection workers. Both defendants posted bail of three hundred dollars each and await trial.
