McDonald's drops buffalo ranch sauce, limited-time items

McDonald's will introduce Buffalo Ranch Sauce at restaurants across the United States by November 3. The condiment blends spicy buffalo flavor with smooth ranch dressing and contains buttermilk, garlic and onion elements, according to company descriptions. The fast-food chain markets the sauce as a complement to chicken menu items but suggests customers can add it to other foods as well.

Three specialty sandwiches will feature the new sauce for a temporary period. A Buffalo Ranch Snack Wrap contains a McCrispy chicken strip, lettuce, cheese and the dressing. The Bacon Buffalo Ranch McCrispy adds applewood-smoked bacon and crinkle-cut pickles. A Deluxe variation includes additional lettuce and Roma tomatoes. Customers can also purchase the sauce separately. Some locations began offering the product in recent weeks ahead of the nationwide debut.

The sauce will remain available for a limited duration only, prompting the company to encourage interested diners to visit restaurants soon. McDonald's positions the release as catering to fans of both ranch and buffalo flavors who want a single dipping option.
