Zara Qairina's mother asked supporters to stop holding public gatherings while the investigation continues. The family wants people to respect the legal process and avoid posting inappropriate comments online. The thirteen-year-old student died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 17 after being discovered unconscious near her school dormitory. Authorities found her in a drainage area at four in the morning. The Attorney General's Chambers ordered the investigation in August after reviewing police findings.
