The ceremony recognized media outlets that actually put effort into gender equity and women's issues, with Women Radio and Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism running the whole thing.
BONews Service grabbed the inclusive advocacy award for balanced disability and social justice coverage. News Agency of Nigeria won the workplace policy category by offering six months of maternity leave, creche facilities at their main offices, and two-hour workday reductions for new moms when they get back.
Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria also picked up an award at the event.
