Meet ODC 2800 Your New Analog Odyssey Fix

Cherry Audio released ODC 2800, a virtual synthesizer that honors the classic Odyssey keyboard and celebrates Alan R. Pearlman's 100th birthday. The software combines old-school sound with modern features that today's musicians need. Mark Barton designed the digital sound processing to recreate three different versions of the original Odyssey. The plugin costs $59 and works on Mac and Windows computers. Musicians can download a free 30-day trial before buying.

The synthesizer offers three authentic filter types from different Odyssey models for accurate vintage sound. It has three oscillators that create sawtooth and square wave sounds with advanced controls. Players can use up to 16 voices at once or play single notes like the original hardware. Two rhythm generators add movement to sounds with five different wave patterns. The plugin also has two sound shapers that control how notes start and fade away.

An effects section provides five studio-quality tools like distortion, delay and reverb. Musicians can control the plugin with velocity-sensitive keyboards and aftertouch controllers. The software comes with more than 330 ready-made sounds across 13 different categories. Cherry Audio will donate part of June sales to the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation. The company also offers bundle deals where customers can pick three plugins for $99 or six plugins for $149.
