Four unidentified men kidnapped Memory Matanga while she traveled to the Chitungwiza Magistrate's Court to provide testimony against robbery suspect Alouis Luciano. The perpetrators pulled the 25-year-old witness into a white Toyota vehicle in the Zengeza 1 neighborhood, drove her to an isolated location near Manyame Airbase, and demanded she retract her statement in exchange for 200 dollars. Matanga had reported the alleged robbery at St. Mary's Police Station, leading to Luciano's detention.
Following her release, the witness arrived at court, where authorities had already issued an arrest warrant for her absence. Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa confirmed that police have launched an investigation into the witness intimidation case. The accused remains in custody awaiting further proceedings before Magistrate Dennis Mangosi, while law enforcement continues searching for the four suspects responsible for the abduction.
