Metro Redux Free for 48 Hours Frenzy

Game developer 4A Games is offering Metro 2033 Redux free for 48 hours on Steam, GOG, and Xbox to mark the series' 15th anniversary. The company shared gameplay footage announcing the giveaway through the official Metro social media account. The free version represents the definitive edition of the original game from 2010, with Redux improvements added during its 2014 release.

PlayStation users cannot access the free game, though the reasons remain unclear about their exclusion from this promotion. Players should hurry to claim their free copy from available digital stores before the offer expires. The Metro franchise officially turned 15 on March 16, 2025, with creators promising special promotions throughout the year. Beyond the free Redux version, other Metro games feature discounts across Steam and GOG platforms, with PlayStation users receiving significant price cuts instead.

Metro 2033 Redux brings players back to where the series began, similar to last year's VR prequel Metro: Awakening, though no recent games have advanced the main storyline. Former 4A Games Ukraine, renamed Reburn Studio, confirmed the development of a new Metro game with creator Dmitry Glukhovsky, but updates about progress have been scarce. Fans can add Metro 2033 Redux to their collection at no cost if they missed previous giveaways on Epic Game Store.
