Mhlanga defends defection to Zanu-PF, prioritizes national progress

Albert Mhlanga, who used to rep Pumula for the opposition MDC, joined Zanu-PF and told everyone he is not a sellout because President Mnangagwa is actually doing the stuff the opposition wanted all along. The former Bulawayo deputy mayor switched parties with another ex-legislator named Dingilizwe Tshuma, and he pointed out that inflation dropped from some insane 89.7 sextillion percent back in 2008 to around 19 percent by late 2025.

Mhlanga said his old crew is calling him a traitor, but he thinks people need to check the bigger picture instead of getting mad about loyalty. His job with the ruling party involves pulling more members into Zanu-PF around Pumula and Bulawayo while highlighting infrastructure projects. He claims the move was about national development, matching up with Vision 2030 goals, and he wants critics to wait and see how things pan out before judging.
