Microsoft, Google, IBM - AI fury guts jobs at Indeed, Glassdoor

Tech giants are dumping workers left and right as artificial intelligence sweeps through corporate America like wildfire. Companies are throwing massive resources at automation departments while human employees get the boot. Microsoft, Google, and IBM lead the charge in this ruthless pivot toward machine-powered operations. The bloodbath extends far beyond traditional tech firms into job search platforms that once helped people find work. Workers are getting pink slips from the very companies that promised to connect them with opportunities.

Recruit Holdings just axed 1,300 employees from Indeed and Glassdoor, slashing six percent of their workforce in one brutal move. CEO Hisayuki Idekoba sent out the death sentence via internal email, targeting US-based staff in operations, research, and sustainability roles. The executive blamed AI transformation for forcing companies to adapt or die in the cutthroat marketplace. Pink slip notifications hit employee inboxes on Thursday, with warnings that more regions face the chopping block. The company plans to revolutionize job searching and recruitment management through artificial intelligence.

Corporate restructuring will merge Glassdoor operations into Indeed while pushing out top brass. Glassdoor CEO Christian Sutherland-Wong and Indeed Chief People Officer LaFawn Devis are stepping down from their executive positions. Recruit Holdings snatched up Indeed in 2012 before gobbling up Glassdoor six years later. The workforce massacre reflects a massive industry trend as tech companies race toward AI while slashing costs. Other major firms are following the same playbook of embracing automation while discarding human talent.
