Minisforum is rolling out a new compact workstation called the MS-02 Ultra. It is built for heavy-duty networking and memory tasks, targeting business and lab setups rather than regular desktop use. At its heart is an Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX processor. The machine supports up to a massive 192 gigabytes of ECC memory across four slots, which is unusual for something this small.
Its networking setup is a major highlight. You get two 25-gigabit SFP+ ports, a 10-gigabit LAN port, and a 2.5-gigabit LAN, plus Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. For expansion, it has two ultra-fast USB4 ports and four internal M.2 slots for storage. The unit is relatively small, just over twenty-two centimeters tall and deep, and it uses an internal 350-watt power supply.
The company will sell it in a few versions. There is a barebones model for experts to build out themselves, and pre-configured systems with either 96 or 192 gigabytes of ECC memory plus a two-terabyte SSD.
