Minister Chombo Tours Flooded Norton Ward

Flash floods recently damaged parts of Norton, prompting Mashonaland West leader Marian Chombo to visit Ward 13 today. She walked through areas where water destroyed homes and left families struggling. The provincial minister checked firsthand how badly residents suffered during this disaster. Local officials joined her tour to assess damage across the community.

Norton spokesperson Leeroy Kaponda shared details about what happened during the visit. He mentioned that Minister Chombo saw many houses completely ruined by water. She stressed both local town leaders and the national government must help these families right away. The situation requires immediate action because people have nowhere safe to live.

Chombo told officials to contact the Civil Protection Authority quickly to request emergency support. She emphasized that everyone needs basic shelter after losing their homes. Community service groups must also step up efforts to assist these flood victims. The urgent nature of this crisis demands coordination between different agencies and organizations.

The minister found many structures damaged beyond repair by the powerful floodwaters. Families lost possessions and needed temporary housing until permanent solutions appeared. Local authorities continue documenting affected households throughout Norton to ensure nobody falls through the cracks during relief distribution. Weather experts monitor conditions to prevent additional surprises as recovery efforts begin.
