President warns dont walk through flooded areas

President Nandi-Ndaitwah warned people to stay away from flooded areas during her Etunda visit on Saturday. Recent floods in northern regions forced schools to close. The military currently delivers food aid to affected areas. The president emphasized safety: "We don't want to lose even one life if we can prevent it."

She thanked the central government for cooperating with regional authorities. Their joint efforts bring essential services to communities affected by climate-related disasters. The president spoke at Etunda Relocation Centre, where many displaced people shelter. Local officials report continuous monitoring of water levels throughout the region. Weather experts predict that additional rainfall might occur in the coming days.

The flood response team consists of military personnel, healthcare workers, and local officials. They distribute clean water, food packages, and medical supplies to isolated communities. Due to high water levels, several roads remain impassable. Authorities established temporary shelter locations for families who left their homes. Emergency communication systems help coordinate rescue operations across the affected northern territories.
