Miss Universe rocked by bribery claims and shock resignations

Miss Universe judge Omar Harfouch accused pageant president Raul Rocha of manipulating competition outcomes by pressuring him to exclude contestants from African nations, multiple Asian territories like Lebanon, and European entrants from Russia, Belarus, and Serbia under spurious visa pretexts. The Lebanese pianist alleged that Mexican victor Fatima Bosch secured her crown through nepotistic connections between her father and Rocha's business interests rather than merit, with Rocha's son reportedly demanding votes for the predetermined champion ahead of the finale.

Estonian representative Brigitta Schabak resigned her title while citing ethical incompatibilities with national director Natalie Korneitsik, sparking supporter praise for her principled stance against alleged corruption. Rocha dismissed all allegations as defamatory lies warranting litigation, yet controversy continues engulfing the competition as participants distance themselves from tainted leadership.
