A tragic incident unfolded in Chinhoyi when a man died after being beaten over a missing phone. Three men attacked Benny Chidiwa from the Lion's Den area because they thought he had stolen a phone.
The police caught one of the attackers, Goodwill Love, who is 25 years old. The attack happened at Fairplay farm near Risheng Mine in Chikuti on November 8. Two other men named Bigboy and Brave helped in the attack but haven't been caught yet.
The three men hit Chidiwa with a shovel and wooden logs. They also burned his feet with firewood to make him admit to taking the phone. The phone belonged to the man known as Bigboy.
Police spokesman Paul Nyathi shared news about a separate case, too. Police found a dead man at a church in Dema's Chirasavana area on the same day. Someone had wrapped his body in a blanket. He had a head wound, and police found a bloody stone nearby. They still don't know who he is.
The police want anyone who knows anything about these cases to tell them. People can go to any police station to share what they know.
