Former Norton lawmaker Temba Mliswa claims corruption runs deep among officials in Mashonaland West Province. He accuses Provincial Minister Marian Chombo and Police Commissioner T. Nyazema of running illegal land and mining schemes. These officials allegedly misuse President Mnangagwa's name to avoid consequences for their actions.
Mliswa wants the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate these claims immediately. He says Chombo canceled approved land allocations and gave properties to people who paid bribes instead. The former MP states he has documents proving these transactions occurred.
He warned Agriculture Minister Anxious Masuka that his reputation could suffer if he ignores these problems. Mliswa also described mining operations inside protected wildlife areas, which are assisted by law enforcement officials. These activities reportedly damage the environment and disturb animals with heavy equipment.
The group even approached a local district council leader, claiming presidential backing for their activities. Mliswa believes President Mnangagwa would never support such harmful actions. Neither Minister Chombo nor any police officials have responded to these accusations.
