Mnangagwa Sneaks Into Hospitals to Face Health Crisis

President Emmerson Mnangagwa toured major hospitals after public criticism about poor healthcare conditions. He visited Parirenyatwa and Sally Mugabe hospitals plus the NatPharm warehouse on Monday. Youth Minister Tinoda Machakaire had challenged the president to see the crisis himself through social media posts. Mnangagwa said the visits help him learn about Zimbabwe's public health problems. He wants to strengthen medical services across the country.

Public hospitals face serious problems with broken equipment and medicine shortages. Healthcare workers earn very little money and many leave Zimbabwe for better jobs abroad. Staff members feel discouraged about working under such difficult conditions. Hospitals lack basic supplies needed to treat sick patients properly. Many people call these facilities death traps because of dangerous conditions.

Nurses recently asked the government to fix hospital problems before more people die. Health workers have protested and written letters asking for urgent help over many years. Government officials have done very little to improve medical facilities or pay raises. Critics blame Mnangagwa's administration for ignoring healthcare needs. The president promises to focus on health improvements during his time leading Zimbabwe.
