Mnangagwa's Allies Aim for Constitutional Amendments

The big boss Emmerson Mnangagwa threw a huge party at his farm last weekend! He rounded up over 120 fan clubs that love him, all talking about keeping him in charge past 2028.

Behind the scenes, word on the street says Mnangagwa turned to these special groups because folks in his own party and military aren't too happy about his plans to stick around longer. Talk about drama!

These fan clubs have fancy names - they're all "Something for ED" groups. From teachers to pastors, young women to street vendors, they're all singing his praises! They want to change the rules just to keep him as president.

But here's the juicy part - these aren't regular party members! They're special groups made just to cheer for Mnangagwa during his 2023 campaign. The plot thickens when you hear that his own party members, especially those backing Vice-President Chiwenga, aren't too thrilled about these moves!

One of the group leaders, Obey Mapuranga, spilled some tea! He claims God picked Mnangagwa as president, and they'll pray for him to stay until after 2030. He bragged about having enough followers to win any vote about changing the rules.

But wait - there's more! Even though Mnangagwa keeps saying he doesn't want to stay longer, his party friends are busy planning ways to change the law. They made it official at their big meeting in Bulawayo last October!

The drama peaked when a party boss in Masvingo, Robson Mavhenyengwa, declared they'd make it happen no matter what! Talk about determination!
