Modartt peddles a new Pianoteq 9

Modartt released Pianoteq 9 after three years of development, marking the most expressive version of its physically modeled software instrument. The update features a redesigned audio engine that enhances soundboard modeling and delivers improved stereo and spatial perception.

The expansion packs received substantial updates. The Harp Pack adds an Italian Triple Harp, while the Concert and Celtic Harps gained improved transients. The Electric Pianos pack's MKII and Reeds instruments offer greater dynamic response and expressivity.

New Somber presets provide softer tones across all grand pianos for cinematic projects, and historical pianos gain the intimate Felts preset. Updated Binaural presets create immersive headphone experiences. The interface improvements allow positioning up to eight microphones in 3D space through the Microphones panel.

The software runs on Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.31 and above, and ARM-based Linux systems. Pricing ranges from 139 euros for Stage to 929 euros for the Studio Bundle, with upgrade discounts for current users.
