Modi and Yogi hail Chandraghanta, India queues at temples

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the third day of Shardiya Navratri through social media messages celebrating Goddess Chandraghanta. The leader emphasized the deity's representation of peace, courage, and fearlessness while seeking divine blessings for citizens nationwide. Modi shared devotional content dedicated to the goddess and expressed hopes for prosperity among Indian families. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the celebrations by posting traditional verses and requesting divine protection from troubles. Worshippers gathered at temples across India during early morning hours to participate in religious observances.

Devotees recognize the Goddess Chandraghanta through her distinctive ten arms, which carry weapons, lotus flowers, and blessing gestures. The deity bears a crescent moon symbol on her forehead that provides her identifying name. Believers seek inner strength and resolution of difficulties through her worship. The nine-night Hindu festival celebrates the various forms of Goddess Durga, known as Navadurga. Religious ceremonies and prayers maintain traditional practices throughout the celebration period across different regions.
