Modi hails Visvesvaraya on Engineers Day, salutes India's builders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya during the National Engineers' Day celebrations on Monday. The observance marks the birth anniversary of the legendary engineer who transformed India's infrastructure development. Modi praised contemporary engineers for their efforts in innovation toward achieving Viksit Bharat goals. The Prime Minister emphasized how engineering professionals continue advancing multiple sectors through creative problem-solving methods. Their contributions remain vital for national progress and technological advancement.

Union Ministers Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda also recognized the engineering community's achievements. Shah highlighted how engineers accelerate India's technological growth through vision and dedication. Nadda commended their daily contributions to strengthening the nation's development narrative. Both ministers paid tribute to Visvesvaraya's enduring influence on modern engineering practices.

Sir Visvesvaraya served as Mysore's Diwan and led the All-India Manufacturers' Organisation during his distinguished career. The government awarded him the Bharat Ratna recognition in 1955 for his exceptional service. His multifaceted expertise encompassed economics, statesmanship, and literature, in addition to his engineering accomplishments.
