Mohadi Tells Mnangagwa He Plans to Step Down

According to inside sources, VP Kembo Mohadi told President Mnangagwa he wants to step down from his position. His departure would create an empty seat at the top, heating power struggles inside Zanu PF leadership circles.

Health problems have plagued Mohadi for years. The 75-year-old VP has collapsed publicly at least three times. During his 18-day stint as acting president in January, he appeared once - sitting through a press conference where his voice kept fading. A source revealed the VP spends more time sick than working. He made his retirement decision personally, which Mnangagwa accepted - they just need to announce it officially.

Before becoming vice president in 2017, Mohadi served as minister for home affairs, later state security. He quit shamefully in March 2021 after ZimLive exposed recordings of his affairs with married women, including a security agent whose husband protected both top leaders. Reports suggest Mnangagwa plans to appoint General Phillip Valerio Sibanda as the new VP, creating rivalry with second VP Constantino Chiwenga, currently leading the race for future Zanu PF leadership. Mnangagwa's spokesperson refused to comment on these developments.
