Morrissey lands Sire deal, swaps album order

Morrissey finally got a label, but it's for the wrong album. The singer announced Sire Records will distribute his new work, yet the upcoming release is You're Right, It's Time, not the long-delayed Bonfire Of Teenagers. He recorded Bonfire several years ago with producer Andrew Watt, featuring guests like Miley Cyrus and Iggy Pop. Its title references the Manchester Arena attack. The album he is actually putting out was made more recently in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli.

His recent tour schedule is a mess of cancellations. He called off shows in Ottawa, Turkey, and South America last year for various reasons. Now his scheduled concert in the Dominican Republic appears scrapped, with the listing removed from ticketing sites. Meanwhile, he is still expected to appear on a track for A$AP Rocky's album, which itself has faced major delays. No firm release date for his own new record has been provided, even as he shares its tracklist with songs like Make-Up Is A Lie.
