Movie in the Park drew over ten thousand people across four events, finishing with a huge screening in Ibadan that mixed a classic Nollywood film with a big after-party. Organizer Ihechi Opara called it more than just watching a movie, highlighting how it reconnected people with old stories and each other in a communal park setting.
Opara said the strong response proves their concept works, aiming to create bonding experiences that families did not know they needed. Following the success, he announced plans to expand next year with a national tour hitting at least ten states. The project continues to build its reputation as a major outdoor cultural event, pushing film viewing beyond standard theaters by focusing on nostalgia and community vibes.
