A security guard stabbed a nightclub patron eight times after the man tried to leave without permission, and authorities charged 40-year-old Mpumelelo Masuku with attempted murder. Masuku blocked the complainant at the main entrance of Ndlovini Bottle Store, and the patron found another exit. Prosecutor Ngonidzashe Shumba told Gwanda Regional Magistrate Sithembiso Ndebele that Masuku chased the victim after pushing him to the ground.
The guard caught the fallen man, and he stabbed him six times in the back, once in each thigh, and struck his left cheek with a brick before fleeing the scene. Villagers found the wounded patron, and they transported him to a medical facility for emergency treatment. Police arrested Masuku, and he pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court remanded the case until Oct. 10 as investigators continue their work.
