MSI unleashes 360Hz QD-OLED beast with sharper text and inky blacks

MSI is about to drop a new monitor that fixes OLED's biggest headaches. Their upcoming MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36, launching at CES 2026, will use Samsung's latest fifth-generation QD-OLED panel, promising much sharper text and deeper blacks.

The 34-inch ultrawide screen boasts a 3440 by 1440 resolution with a 360Hz refresh rate. The new panel technology introduces an RGB Stripe sub-pixel layout, a major shift designed to eliminate the color fringing and blurry text that plagued older OLED displays. MSI is also adding a proprietary DarkArmor Film, which they claim improves black levels by forty percent and increases surface hardness by two and a half times, removing the purple tint common on current models.

This monitor includes DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity, Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, and the latest OLED Care 3.0 warranty program. MSI also previewed a flagship model called the MEG X QD-OLED, another 34-inch design using the same fifth-gen panel with promised AI features. Alongside these, the company updated its 32-inch QD-OLED lineup with the MPG 322UR X24 and MAG 321UP X24, incorporating the same improved contrast and brightness.
