Mt Kenya bishop shuts down Ruto betrayal rumors

An Anglican bishop from Gatundu North basically told everyone to chill about rumors that Mt Kenya might ditch Ruto before the next election. Simon Karatu used his Sunday sermon to double down on regional loyalty, saying the president actually listens to regular people and the whole area still has his back despite chatter suggesting otherwise.

The church leader told Ruto to ignore the noise about losing support in the vote-heavy region and promised voters would show up early to back him when ballots get cast. Karatu framed the whole thing as a relationship built on trust and pushed back hard against claims that locals were reconsidering their political alignment.

He wrapped it up by assuring the president that Mt Kenya residents love him and plan to stick with him through the political journey ahead.
