MTN hands out hampers, Christmas babies get love

Phone company gives out baby stuff for holiday births. Officials from MTN Ghana's Northern Business District handed out seventy gift bundles to newborns at two hospitals in Kumasi, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Kumasi Children's Hospital. The area manager for Ashanti, Bono, and Bono East, Obed Adu-Amankwaah, said this is a yearly company tradition for Christmas Day babies. The hampers had basic items like diapers, baby oil, towels, and detergent. This was part of a bigger national effort where MTN distributed seven hundred hampers total, with three hundred ten just in their northern district.

Adu-Amankwaah told reporters the holiday is about giving and showing love, not just celebration. He stated MTN wants to give back because the community supports the company. The nurse manager at the Obstetrics Department, Dorcas Asamoah Nyamekye, thanked MTN for the help. She asked the company to do more and encouraged other businesses to copy the idea for hospital patients. The gesture aimed to extend the Christmas feeling for new families with practical support.
