Museveni outlines NRM pillars at Namisindwa campaign rally

President Yoweri Museveni campaigned in Namisindwa District on Monday, emphasizing what he described as five fundamental achievements under the National Resistance Movement: security, infrastructure development, household prosperity, employment generation, and universal education access. Museveni told supporters that economic growth stems from commercial agriculture, manufacturing and services rather than government positions, noting that public sector employment accounts for only 480,000 positions among Uganda's 50 million residents.

The president highlighted infrastructure progress, including road construction reaching Lwakhakha from Mbale and announced plans for additional routes. He acknowledged gaps in health coverage, with 19 of the district's 29 sub-counties lacking medical facilities, and revealed expansion plans for water access beyond the current 52 percent coverage. Museveni reported that the Parish Development Model has distributed 50.1 billion shillings across 163 parishes, reaching more than 51,000 households representing 80.3 percent of families in the district.
