Museveni rallies Kassanda, slams opposition rule

At a rainy rally in Kassanda District, President Museveni told a crowd to reject opposition candidates. Speaking in the Bukuya Town Council, he argued rival politicians fail to deliver services. He pointed to his NRM party's record over forty years, starting with national peace. Museveni claimed Uganda's stability comes from avoiding divisive politics based on tribe or religion.

He listed development as a second achievement, naming road projects like Myanzi-Kiboga-Mubende. He blamed local leaders for slow progress on some infrastructure. While noting electrical improvements in Kassanda, he admitted some sub-counties still lack power and criticized water access there. He recommitted to placing a primary school in every parish and a secondary school in every sub-county.

The third contribution he highlighted was wealth creation, pushing the four-acre farm model for households. Job creation through agriculture and industry was another point, with a call for youth to use skilling centers. Local NRM officials, including Haruna Kassolo and district chair Dr. Michael Bukenya, echoed support. Bukenya predicted ninety percent votes for the NRM, while asking for a technical school and a land fund to address local conflicts.
