Musk to sue Apple because his Grok AI can't beat ChatGPT

Elon Musk has launched accusations against Apple regarding the company's treatment of OpenAI's ChatGPT application within App Store rankings. The Tesla executive claims Apple provides unfair advantages to ChatGPT through preferential placement and editorial features. Musk threatens to pursue legal remedies based on antitrust concerns against the technology giant. His artificial intelligence company xAI has struggled to achieve similar prominence with its Grok 4 application despite recent launches. Apple has faced ongoing scrutiny from regulatory authorities over potential monopolistic practices.

OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman responded to these allegations by challenging Musk's position as hypocritical. Altman suggested that Musk manipulates his social media platform X and other business ventures to serve personal interests. The OpenAI leader referenced systems that prioritize Musk's content visibility on X as evidence of similar preferential treatment. Musk previously co-founded OpenAI before departing and later filing litigation to block the organization's transition from nonprofit to for-profit status.
