Muswere calls Cross an excitable charlatan

Information Minister Dr. Jenfan Muswere called Eddie Cross an excited fraud after Cross made wild claims against Zimbabwe's First Family. Muswere said these claims show that Cross still thinks black people can succeed only with white help. He blamed this on leftover imperial thinking in Cross's mind. The former opposition member gave an interview to South African TV where he accused the First Family of corruption. Later, Cross had to walk back his statements because he lacked any proof.

Cross admitted he promised to give President Mnangagwa evidence but failed to deliver anything solid. He even said he apologized to the First Family for making claims based just on rumors. Muswere stressed that the government listens to many viewpoints but refuses to accept nonsense from someone like Cross. He described Cross as someone who misused his closeness to power by pretending he knew more than others.

The minister called Cross an unrepentant Rhodesian who benefited from racist policies in the past. He said Cross acts differently depending on who watches him. During daylight hours, Cross pretends to support the government. But when cameras roll or at night, he changes like a chameleon and becomes very excited. Cross then acts like he knows everything about everyone. Muswere warned that this behavior must stop right away.

Cross tries to look important by giving loud advice nobody asked for. The government welcomes real ideas but rejects the garbage Cross spreads around. Muswere reminded everyone that all people stand equal before God. He warned Cross to stop making claims without proof and to stop looking down on others. The interview created major problems for Cross, who had tried to position himself as close to leadership circles.

The situation highlights tensions between those who worked with the former opposition and current government officials. Many people questioned why Cross felt comfortable making such serious allegations without anything to back them up. His quick retreat and apology came after he realized he had crossed a dangerous line. The story spread quickly across social media platforms, where many Zimbabweans debated what motivated Cross to attack the First Family.
