Uhuru calls African youth the real treasure, not the soil

Uhuru Kenyatta basically just told Africa's youth they are carrying the entire continent while he visited the Loveworld venue in Lagos, Nigeria, after Chris Oyakhilome invited him to be the main speaker at the awards ceremony for future leaders of Africa. Kenyatta claimed that the real treasure of the region is the brainpower and passion of the younger generation rather than minerals found in the ground, and he argued that these kids are currently in charge of the path forward instead of waiting for some later period to start leading. The guy thinks the place has plenty of energy and skills but desperately needs bosses who value being honest and doing their jobs right, and he claimed that being a leader is about making life better for regular people instead of just having a high rank.

The speaker gave props to the specific youngsters who got prizes at the event because they represent a new group focused on helping people and trying new things. He said these individuals chose to help their communities rather than staying comfortable or being afraid, and Kenyatta thinks these people showed who they really are by putting others first. He wants the youth to use their skills with a clear goal, and he believes being in charge should actually change things for the better. The progress of the region depends on leaders who have a plan and stay loyal to the people they serve.

The guest speaker gave a shout-out to Chris Oyakhilome for starting the foundation that helps find and train these young bosses, and he thinks this setup is great because it gives people a reason to work hard. He believes the program invests in the population, which is the most valuable thing there. Kenyatta also mentioned Olusegun Obasanjo, who goes by Baba, as that man has spent a long time teaching and helping others lead. He believes that the work Obasanjo did with the youth has helped the area keep growing long after he stopped his previous work.

Kenyatta sent out a message for a peaceful and successful year for everyone around the globe, and he told the crowd to believe in their ability to pick their path by staying united and working for the common good. He wants the continent to grow because of the work done by its people, while being guided by those who care about service. The awards program exists to find and help kids from the continent who have done big things through teaching and helping others.
