Red Cross feud heats up, cash questions put election on ice

Collins Mtika from Malawi Red Cross Society is fighting back after officials tossed his complaint against Susan Thindwa, who won a Council Member spot for the Mzuzu Division. He claims she never explained what happened to over MK300,000 from a flag campaign, and he says that should have blocked her from running under their election rules.

The committee shut down his case because nobody from the National Council had formally disciplined her yet, which apparently needed to happen first. Mtika fired off an appeal saying the committee should have dug into the allegations anyway, and he wants them to boot Thindwa while they investigate properly.

People watching this mess say it shows transparency problems at MRCS, which could spook donors and volunteers if leadership does not clear things up fast.
