A 35-year-old man from Honde Valley died by suicide at his residence following a financial dispute with his spouse. George Munyuki of Gwiriri Village had disagreed with his wife, Violet Nyabawa, about household spending after returning from a shopping trip. Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident occurred last Friday. Nyabawa spent the night at a neighbor's home after their argument. Police from ZRP Ruda responded to the scene.
Nyabawa returned home around 7 am and discovered the main entrance locked from the inside. She contacted family friend Martin Mambondiyani, who entered through a window. The victim had left written instructions for his wife regarding livestock and funeral arrangements. Authorities transported the deceased to Bonda Mission Hospital mortuary for processing.
